Happy New Year!

Would you like to generate powerful energy for what you want to create in 2024?

I love the milestone of the passing from one year to the next.

It’s a perfect time to reflect back on the past year and the strides we've made, the lives we've touched, and the ripples of positive change we've set in motion. And then look forward to be a conscious creator of our year ahead.

With all of the turbulence in our world, more than ever we are all needed to step up and play the role that is uniquely ours to play.  It’s so important to share your talents, skills and gifts with a world that desperately needs them.

Future-oriented, solution-focused questions can generate powerful energy to create what we want in our lives.

My holiday gift to you is my favorite questions for transitioning from one year to the next.  You can edit them or add your own to make this activity meaningful for you, your family, and your teams.

Some people tell me they love to have some quiet reflection time alone with the questions, cozy under a blanket with a warm drink.  Some tell me they have created an annual tradition of answering the questions together with family or friends. They love the conversations these questions inspire. Sometimes people bring them to holiday gatherings, include them in holiday mailings, or send them as a digital gift.

I encourage you to keep the questions handy and re-visit them all year long!

Please share the questions with whomever you like.  I love hearing about how these questions are used and what opens up for you, so please send me a message and let me know!

There is more information in the article below.  I hope you embrace this activity and enjoy it!

Here's to a new year full of opportunities to inspire ourselves and others.

Thank you for all the ways you are making a difference.

2024 New Year Reflection

December 21, 2023

For many years it’s been my annual tradition to write this letter during winter solstice in the northern hemisphere of planet Earth. Tonight will be the longest night of the year. It seems like a perfect transition time to reflect on what we want to let go of in our life, and with ‘the return of the light’ be intentional about what we want to create in the year ahead.

2023 has been an interesting year for me. It’s been full of many joys, connections, and positive relationships. And I have also been navigating grief. Some of it is about current things happening in the U.S. and the world, and some of it resurfaced about old losses that I thought were healed. I continue to marvel at the human being’s ability to hold joy and sadness at the same time.

To navigate my life with more ease and flow I remember to honor all of my emotions and what they are here to teach me, then turn the focus of my attention to what I am grateful for, what I want to create, and how I can get there.

As a Positive Intelligence® coach, I keep learning with the monthly themes in the ongoing ‘Grow’ program. The theme for December was self-actualization. The common definition of self-actualization is Abraham Maslow’s: ‘To become everything one is capable of becoming.’ The founder of Positive Intelligence®, Shirzad Chamine’s definition is: ‘At the end of my life looking back, to have no regrets.’

To have no regrets.      What would your life look like, for you to be able to look back and have no regrets?

For me, it’s developing the quality of being ‘adaptively resilient,’ and to show up as my best self as often as I can. To have others experience love, acceptance, connection, and inspiration in my presence. To make a positive difference in the world, and in my relationships with others. And to have as many juicy adventures as I can, and experience the wonderful things that living on our incredible planet Earth has to offer!

This way of being is something I need to intentionally pay attention to every single day, and some days I do better than others. I know without doubt that when we make an internal change and live our lives with a forward-focused approach, we can accomplish goals faster and easier with much less stress and more enjoyment! We can turn conflict into collaboration, and create breakthrough results that are sustainable.

Please do not underestimate the power you have to make a positive difference. You can play a leadership role in every conversation you have.  One way to do this is to ask forward-focused, solution-oriented questions.

This ‘forward focus’ approach is the foundation of my New Year Reflection questions. I encourage you to spend some quiet time reflecting on these questions for yourself, and to use them to engage in some juicy conversation with others.

For many years I have shared these questions with family, friends and colleagues.  Many people have told me they love these questions, and I am delighted to offer them so you can share them with the people in your life. It’s particularly fun for me to hear the various ways people use them with their loved ones during holiday gatherings.

Remember that when we each show up as our best self and do something positive every day, collectively we will change the world ~ one thought, one word, one action at a time ~ as long as we stay focused on what we want to create.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

I wish you a year of accomplishment, collaboration, and joy in your work and in your life!

THANK YOU for all the ways you are making a difference.

To your success,
